‘Break Out’ is the newest release from Joanna Gemma Auguri, a Berlin-based musician who incorporates folk, ambient and avant-garde influences into her sound. Her most recent release begins with sparse, atmospheric instrumentation and a haunting vocal, before traveling through layers of gritty texture and landing with force in the huge, cinematic sonic world that Auguri has crafted. Of the deeply emotional track, she says: “Sometimes it takes a strong push from the outside to leave a familiar orbit. Let me overcome the borders of myself! Let me break out of here!”.
